I was quite excited about Google Assistant coming onto Sonos initially when it
was announced at least a year ago when I got my Sonos Ones. However, it looks
like Google Assistant doesn’t support Apple Music. I do use Amazon‘s Alexa on
the Sonos but over the months it seems to have gotten slower and less
responsive with cumulative updates. Sonos One’s are also more limited than
Echo devices as features such as Drop-in and some skills do not work on them.
They had to bring out a newer, more powerful, Sonos One to cope withe the
increased software load. I don’t think the microphone system is as sensitive as
on the original Echo devices either. So I agree: a bit gimmicky!

it's a bit of a faff to sign into one or other to activate it each time you
wish to swap. I think I prefer both these assistants to be separate from my

that's just my take on it.
