Hi all,
I have just seen the following on the virtues list and I thought that it
had actually been sent to the wrong type of list so I thought it should be
sent on to access-uk

Subject: [virtues] Improving Internet access for blind and visually-impaired
individuals - UK & Irish-based volunteers sought
Dear All,
Our project aims to improve Internet access for the blind and
visually-impaired community by using senses other than vision to convey
information. In particular, sound and touch will be used for exploring web
pages. By using these new approaches, blind and visually-impaired users
will have enhanced access to the Internet.
We are currently looking for visually-impaired (blind or partially-sighted)
volunteers in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to participate in a
telephone-based interview, the purpose of which is to assess how each person
uses the Internet and to determine its associated difficulties. We are
looking at all age groups and levels of computer experience (beginner to
expert), so if you are interested, please contact web4blind@xxxxxxxxx and we
can arrange a time that suits you.
Further information about our work is available from
http://www.web4blind.org
Thanks,
Web4Blind team
