Hi peter,

It's certainly not you.  I believe that if you touch the area and it reads
it, Talkback doesn't always gain focus until you swipe.

I believe you could confirm this, because Talkback always shows visually
where it is focused, so try it with a sighted person.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Further to swipe or screen exploration discussion in
Android

I begin by saying that my initial and preferred method of navigation is to
explore by touch. However can anybody comment on the following:

On the google Assistant screen  which comes up after the assistant executes
a command the following occurs.  On exploration the wording "Tap to dismiss
assistant" is generated by touch. However even though my finger is exactly
over the spot double tapping does not dismiss it. Yet when I swipe to the
wording and then double tap the screen disappears. Is this me, if not is
there a glitch?

Peter
