Hi Ali,
What you want to do is export the outlook dot p s t file. You have
one on each machine. You are going to overwrite one of them, so Choose the
machine that has the most recent and up to date addresses and appointments.
To this machine, add all other important addressess and appointments, ones
you don't want to lose.
That done, pull down file menu and select import and export, and
select export to a file. The type of file you wish to create is personel
folder file, pst. With that highlighted, move to next button. You are now in
a treeview. Select and rest on Personel folders from that list, then tab to
include all subfolders and make sure it is checked. Now tab to the next
button. Here you are presented with a location where you might want to store
your pst file. I just use desktop. I also call my file backup dot pst, that
is, backup.pst. You might want to choose backup also.
Go ahead and hit the next button. After a few other windows in which you
should just move to the next button, skip password etc, Outlook should be
copying your messages and folders and appointments, notes etc to backup dot
pst on your desktop.
Copy this file to a floppy or a disk. Now move to your other machine and
locate the following file:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Ali\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst
Paste your backup dot pst file into this folder. Now remame the outlook dot
pst file as outlook 2 dot pst. And rename the backup dot pst file as outlook
dot pst.
That should do it, Ali.
