So have I, it's a stupid way of reading messages and Emails. Another way to
get round it is to prepare to forward the text message you have received to
yourself. Then, press the up arrow and choose between characters, words,
sentence etc and read it that way. Again, stupid and unnecessary!

Not in the traditional sense, that is by pressing left and right buttons.
But if you hold down the down arrow button while in a text message, the
whole message will be spelled out to you character by character.
This is not ideal, and I have passed on feedback to the company.
