Hi
It’s great to see so much interest on the list for the Orbit Writer.
We are just waiting for stock to arrive and anticipate it will launch early in
January. We generally update our Helpline two weeks before we launch products,
so apologies if this has created some mis-information.
There was an earlier model available for sale, but we decided to wait the extra
few weeks for the updated model and will be including the case as standard.
Regards
Alison

I didn’t mean that were forced, but I think the least the RNIB need to do is
service it for you as they have the monopoly on this.
Trust me this has been on the market well before Covid, frankly I do not
believe that the RNIB realise just how useful this device is, lack of
Braillists, I suspect.
Best of luck with it and stay safe.

I agree with this but it was my choice to purchase from this company, I could
have waited for RNIB to stock it.
Unfortunately I did not purchase the case and they say my order has shipped so
I will need to purchase the case and pay shipping charge again but once more,
my choice.
Mandy.

Hi Jeff,
I think it was me.
We could import it and certainly service them too.
All the best

Why are we just putting up with this?
The idea that you should have to pay an extra 35 dollars for this and then be
concerned about servicing is awful.
People on this list are willing to import it, the rnib can’t be bothered, could
the list moderator at least forward this to who ever takes a salary at the
rnib and claims to be running this?
Why are we putting up with this and why have the rnib not even bothered
contributing to the discussion?
We are customers and consumers if the rnib can’t cope let them pass this to
people who can.
Can’t remember if it was mo, Steve or George who said they wanted to handle
this.
Sorry if this is off topic but I have received more help from this list than I
have ever got from the RNIB, who long before Covid failed to do anything
useful.
Yes I am being unreasonable but the idea that one of us is having to pay an
additional 35 dollars and be concerned about servicing really irritates me when
the RNIB are using a monopoly tao prevent this being imported.
Forgive errors I am fuming.
