Hello all, thanks for these replies. In fact, after trying many more approaches to this Incredibar problem, I eventually downloaded a spyware program I used to use a few years ago called Spybot Search and Destroy and it was the only one which was able to recognise it and fix the problem. The other four malwre programs I tried were not up to the job, including Malwarebytes. Again, thanks for the responses. John. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tristram Llewellyn" <tristram.llewellyn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 9:44 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Does anyone know how to get rid of Incredibar? Possibly try running Malwarebytes on the machine for automatic removal or here are some manual removal instructions: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=65768 Regards. Hi John This pest is often downloaded riding on the back of other programs. It's invaded me a couple of times and I just uninstall it using the Control Panel/Add Remove Programs or Program and Preferences if using Win7. But then go into C drive/Programs and delete the Incredible entry you see there or the damned thing will come back. That seems to work for me. Hello All, As the subject line says, I have somehow got a browser hijacker installed onto my computer. I have tried much of what I can find on Google as remedies but nothing works. It is said to be a terrible malware program to delete. I have found a specific program to run on the Norton site but, as with most of Norton's one-off file deletion programs, it is completely inaccessible. I have also used System Restore as far back as six weeks ago, when I don't think I had it, but it still returns every time I launch IE8. It is also imbedded in Google Chrome and Firefox. I have run up-to-date versions of MS Security and Malwarebytes but they don't even find it, let alone remove it! Has anyone any experience of this who can advise the best method to extinguish it?
