Will you let me know, when you have looked at the new Focus 40, whether you
think there is an advantage to buying it over the older model which I now use?
I do like the idea of a notetaker in some ways although wonder how much I would
use it – it wold be nice if it was a little quieter than the current model.
Please will you let me know what you think – email me privately if you want in
case others on here aren’t particularly interested.
Sight&Sound do a no interest monthly payment scheme don’t they?

I don’t have any interest in any of them, so you are just getting my honest
view.
The HumanWare BI40 is a nice display. It does not have a note-taker built into
it, but the Braille cells are extremely comfortable, and it does seem to pair
well with your devices.
The new Focus Blue 40 fifth generation, which I am going to play with this
coming week, will eventually have a note-taker built into it with a firmware
upgrade. If you use JAWS, then this display will work seamlessly with it as
part of the Freedom family.
As you know, the Esys is from EuroBraille and sold here in the UK by Steve. I
personally don’t like it, but that’s not to say it isn’t a good display, it’s
just that I personally find the keys noisy, and I really don’t like the springy
thumb key function. Only my view though, I’m not going to start a war over it.
There is also HelpTech, formerly HandyTech, but support in the UK is next to
nothing, and the displays are very expensive despite being really lovely to
read on.
VarioUltra is a lovely display, but I personally don’t like the position of the
input keys. It’s a great pity what has happened there.

I Steve and anybody interested in this topic.
Ok Steve, being honest and not wshing to offend, my friend liked the Braille
display you sell but said it is too noisy – one of the things baum claimed was
the quietness of their display.
I am fairly happy with my Focus 40 although it doesn’t work as efficiently with
my iPhone X as it did before all the updates, but if I am spending this amount
of money I really want to gain something.
Which would be best fo me as someone who uses it a lot for everything doable
with iPhone, also a lot of reading of books and now having read all about the
Baum I am more interested in having some of the extra features that the Focus
40 do not include.
Someone with an unbiased view, please give me some pointers as to what is best
to buy?

I wouldn’t go there, since Baum are pretty much no more. The UK web site is
still up, but the German one. http://www.baum.de is now no more, or it wasn’t ;
when I last looked.
