Hi Clive,
The way I do it is by going to BBC Sounds (formally BBC iPlayer Radio) and
filter programmes by category. Then when I open any programme it starts playing
automatically; it did not used to do that until only few days ago.
I have just tried your way by accessing the programmes schedule for a specific
radio channel, and you are right, the programme did not start playing by itself
when clicked. But to be honest, listing programmes by channel would make
finding programmes that I am interested in impractical. Thank you for the
suggestion though.
I hope someone has an idea how to make iPlayer behaves as it used to do when I
list programmes by category.
Kind regards
Amro

Hi Amro, I don’t know but I normally bring up the programme schedules for the
relevant station, locate the programme by date, and click on the link with
the programme name if I don’t want it to start playing immediately. If I want
an immediate start, I click on the link for the programme that tells how many
days left to listen. That’s always worked for me and nothing has changed with
that method in the past few days. It may not be the exact answer to your
question, but it could provide you with a fall-back option if you don’t get a
better resolution.
Best,
Clive

Subject: [access-uk] BBC iPlayer odd behaviour
Hi everyone,
Since few days ago, every time I open the page of any BBC radio programme on
the iPlayer website on my computer that programme begins playing
automatically. I have not changed any of the iPlayer website settings as far
as I am concerned. Does anyone know if and how I can stop this behaviour?
Previously, programmes will not begin playing unless I click the listen now
button.
Best
Amro
