Hi Mark, If you allow yourself time for around an 80 meg download, plus about 30 - 40 minutes, then do it via the Windows Update site. DO NOT under any circumstances disable your firewall or AV software. Before you do this however, you are advised to do some important things. 1) Check system for viruses. 2) Check system for spyware. 3) Check software developers' web sites for SP2 update advice, if any. Hello list. As I still appear to have this 'Downloading updates icon in my Systray discussed about a month ago on here, I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there still using SP1 who hasn't been offered the update automatically? I was preparing for vacation when this thread first came up, so could have missed any conclusions. I can get it from the Windows update site no problem, but I'm a little concerned the actual installation may begin without warning, thus not allowing me to disable certain apps (chiefly my AV and Firewall Software). As we're now approaching mid October, I am really beginning to wonder what to do for the best....even though I do have a decent firewall etc. Any thoughts appreciated! Cheers, Mark P.S.
