Hi,

There are several voices on Android, Acapela, Eloquence, Ivona, for example.
Try getting Eloquence on an iPad, you can't <Smile>.

All the best
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Alternatives to the iPad

Hello again,

I thought I would start another thread on stories and opinions on
tablet devices other than the Apple iPad.
Steve Nutt has already mentioned the Nexus and that he is able to use
it successfully. Considering that Android based tablet PCs cost a
fraction of their iOS equivalents, I think an in-depth comparison of
the two platforms would be worth the time and effort. Topics worth
exploring would include the accessibility of the operating system and
third-party software user interface for basic IT tasks (eg OS
maintenance, file management, email, browsing the web, playing music,
listening to daisy books and so forth). The voices and the range of
languages that are available on Android. I do truly hope it isn't
the dreaded espeak and nothing. *smile* You get the idea, anyway.

By the way, I would like to thank the list for their positive
response to my other threads so far. This is one of the more
positive, more responsive lists I have joined to date. So, thanks
guys. So, without further ado, Laissez Le Bonton Roulet!

Sincerely, Matthew
