Hi Catherine

I can do a couple of these.

1 I've got version 8 of adobe on my machine. It does work fine for me but
it doesn't like documents larger than about four pages normally, but it
occasionally reads larger ones. I just wonder whether this is something to
do with the way the document was created in the first place.

3 I would yell at your Council to make this document more generally
accessible to blind people. We all don't have computers, the Chester and
District branch of the NFB successfully campaigned for this in our area and
the City Council together with a couple of the north east Wales Councils are
now aware of such a need, and we have access to the documents for green and
pink weeks in braille and large print, which covers, plastic, drinnks cans
and paper, and the white bag scheme, glass and batteries.

Don't know how helpful this is, but good luck with No. 3, keep pestering!

Subject: [access-uk] Adobe Reader questions

Hi,

I'm having trouble reading a pdf and have a few questions I wonder if
people can help with.

1. I've got Adobe Reader 7 - is this the latest version? Should I
instal the latest version if not?

2. I get incredibly irritated with JAWS saying "graphic" all over the
place when reading PDFs. Is there any way I can stop this? I've gone
into graphics in configuration manager and set it to say no graphics
but still it says "graphic" when I'm reading through the text.

3. Does anyone feel like looking at this damn pdf to see if they can
find out which recycling week we're in in my area (this pdf contains a
timetable of "green" weeks and "blue" weeks which I can't find/fathom
with JAWS).
