Hi Kevin,

You can still turn it on in settings after setup.  Yes you need sighted help, 
but if you want a demo in the shop, it is easy to do.

Yes but this will only work once, you can't switch the screen reader off 
and enable it with a gesture like you can in Ios. OK it's a hardware 
switch with apple but at least you can do it. the way you describe can 
only be done once at the initial set-up.
