Hi Edward,
The short answer to this is yes! We, both myself and my wife have spoken to
3store channel support and to customer services and and both state that we
have to complete a form, and to get a doctors certificate stating our
disability.

The upshot of this is that I have contacted OFCOM and the CAB and have been
advised with absolute certainty that 3UK are in the wrong and that they have
to provide us with free directory services with no further delay. Failing
this, both CAB and OFCOM will back us in taking legal action.

The 3store manager where we signed our contracts is now talking with the
directors of 3UK and hope to resolve this soon.

I am pleased that you have had no problems. However, many that have
contacted me off list
have also had problems with 3UK in this same matter

Hi Ibby,

I have to say that this hasn’t been my experience on 3. To be fair though,
I never actually asked if I needed to register.

When you phone 195, 3 verify the details with BT anyway. Have you been
refused a number?

Edward

Subject: [access-uk] 195 directories and 3UK

Hi Folks,

My wife and I a month ago took up a mobile contract with 3UK. Unfortunately,
if you are on 3UK we have been advised that we have to complete a form which
must also be signed by our doctor to be able to access free directory
enquiries.

I have on had to complete a form once and that was when 195 was first
released.

We have had mobile phone contracts with Voda, T-Mobile, and O2 and after
explaining to them that we are eligible, the provided 195 access without any
further form filling and/or any further questions.

The 3UK stores do not know anything about the 195 service and their customer
service call centres are in India which in our experience to-date has been
somewhat trying to say the least!

Whilst 3UK have an office here in the UK, they will not discuss any matter
and their operators will only connect you to the call centre in India.

We most certainly will not be renewing our contracts when they come up again
for renewal and we will go back to the other network providers.
