I think we have to realize a couple of things. First, this is not a "closed
list". This means that anyone can subscribe to it. We are, a public
organization.

The post which was criticized did, apparently have information which was
inaccurate at this time. In reading reputable sources the internet is still
governed by the same rules of liable as print publication so they were
within their legal right to request a retraction.

As a personal concern, I do get concerned when consumer organizations become
shills for specific vendors at the expense of other vendors just because
some of their influential members work for, or are connected with some of
them.

My experience has been that both Maxiaids and Independent living aids have
enough differences in the product lines that it would be a disservice to us
to be choosing sides in competition between two businesses. Personally I
really like the low-end tape player at Independent living aids and there are
a number of products which I've equally bought and will continue to by at
Maxiaids. Sorry for the rant!

seem to be endowed with at birth: namely, a healthy skepticism of the
powers of government agencies to do good." --Daniel P. Moynihan
