The most recent AAHB board meeting was held on *Tuesday, November 16, 2021*.
We discussed the following:
*President’s Report*
- A call for nominations (including self-nominations) will be coming
soon to serve various roles in the Academy.
*Treasurer’s Report*
- Savings/Checking accounts remain healthy/stable.
*Health Behavior Research Journal*
- Kenneth Ward was recently announced as the new Associate Editor of *Health
Behavior Research. *
- Please consider submitting a manuscript to a Special Issue on
Mentoring (with special guest editors Matthew Lee Smith and Adam Barry).

- Deadline for Submissions: *February 28, 2022 *
- You may receive an email from the journal regarding your willingness
to serve as a reviewer. Please note that this *only* confirms your
email address and willingness to consider future manuscript reviews as they
are submitted.
- Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) indexing – Currently *HBR* is
indexed within DOAJ, but the articles are not. The editor is currently
working with DOAJ and New Prairie Press to see if articles can be indexed
as well.
*Logo/rebranding project *
- Logo updates are still ongoing.
- Website updates will occur after the logo is finalized.
*Marketing & Communications Council*
- Currently finalizing 2022 conference speakers.
*Resource Development Council*
- No new updates.
*Awards Council*
- Dr. An reported there are 4 nominees for the Mentorship Award
<https://aahb.org/Mentorship-Award>. The committee is currently
reviewing materials, and will convene in December.
- Judy Black Award <https://aahb.org/Awards_JKB>—Currently determining
which individuals are eligible for the award based on annual meeting
abstract submissions.
*Membership Council*
- New Members - This past month 5 full members and 3 affiliate members
were approved.
- Congratulations to Dr. Mark Reed who was unanimously approved by the
board for Fellow status.
*Diversity & Equity Council*
- Dr. Nguyen is working with the Diversity & Equity Council on
developing a conference theme for the 2023 annual meeting.
*Professional Development & Mentoring Council*
- The PDMC is continuing to work on funding request format and
guidelines for mentoring pairs and conference planning for this year.
*2022 Conference Planning*
- No new updates.
*2023 Conference Planning*
- Recruitment of the 2023 Conference Planning Committee Chair is being
finalized.
