Hi Rob,
Thanks for that. Last year we held an exhibition in our museum's fairly
small Neville Duke Hall throughout July and August on Czech and Polish
pilots.

We calculate that it was visited by about three to four thousand people
over that period. We took a part of that exhibition and put it into our
'middle hall', just a 2m wide display cabinet and storyboards above it
including some of the pilots and Johnny Kent. It's surprising how many
people have an interest in or connection with the Czechs and Poles
(quite a few live in the area) and two weeks ago Johnny Kent's great
grandson about eleven years old, along with Johnny's daughter and
grand-daughter came in to learn about his great grandad. I would have
given them the VIP treatment but they turned up unannounced and wanted
to keep a low profile, just a visit for the great grandson.
It is also surprising how many visitors including adults have never
heard of the Battle of Britain or other significant WWII events. We now
run a schools programme for local schools which helps educate them in
that and later events and fits into their school curriculum.
Cheers,
klem
