Many thanks for the reply.
What altitude were you and the 109 at, was you at high cruise speed when the
109 engaged Klem, then yourselves? How far was red section away from green ?
There is a fine line between enticing the enemy like Stickz was doing for you
to get you a shooting solution, and not getting hit at the same time. Sometimes
the follower needs to call the tactics for the aircraft with the bandit on his
tail. Also you have to watch out for the E7 in the turn against the Mig3 as it
can turn quite well, compared to later 109’s. Yeah the 12.7s in the Mig3 are
good :).
Must admit I have not seen as many blue pilots use the flaps as much as red
pilots do, personally never used them apart from take off and land. There
should be more drag I think maybe in the FM than there is? Deploying flaps in a
109 is a slow experience some I am surprised people do it. The 190 yes as it
has two setting is a lot easier to do, wait till you get to the P-38 lol.

I think he first attacked Klem - Klem was in green section. Then I spotted
him passing close to red section. I followed him but he spotted me and went
straight up. I saw him dropping his flaps (I hate that exploit but many axis
do that). Stickz was following me in welded wing formation but we all
stalled. When me and Stickz regained control we were low and he was above us.
I saw him coming down behind Stickz and warned him. Stickz knew that Jerry
was behind him and as he saw me turning on this German six he tried to make
it easy for me to give him a good burst and did not turn tight. I was a
little bit too far to shoot and he managed to damage Stickz but few moments
later I was quite close and caused him a tremendous headache with 12.5mm
bullets between the eyes so he turned upside down and went straight to the
ground to kill the pain.
That's how I remember it.
