How far ahead were these other P-51's as they are not on our TacView? more
invisible planes?
And there were three of you not two?

Bad form though, attacking two poor vulnerable aircraft just trying to get some
alt. Not cricket you know.

I agree same old story.
If you ignore the build up which I will go through later, the reasons that the
three of you got shot down were mainly look out(I am very mind full of
invisible aircraft at the moment), and lack of reaction.
Part 1
I came through first, completely blew the bounce, missed my target completely,
guns blazing. Talisman did a strange small bunt down fired his guns(after I was
well past, an, ND maybe?), I had flown right through the formation and there
was no major reaction. Witch had followed me in(you know the double attack, 5
seconds gap, we trained and explained to everyone), the formation had no
reaction and was same flying in same direction, his attack was better and took
Talisman out.
Next phase loose deuce(again we had trained and explained to everyone) as Witch
was taking out Talisman, I had already gone vertical after my bad first pass,
and was coming down for a second attack. Keks had done a right turn 360, Klem
had done a slight right turn in the rough direction of Witches flight path,
dipping his wings a little bit. I lined up on Klem on my dive down took him
out, Keks in the mean time had done his 360 and proceeded to go back on
original course and same altitude. As a part of the loose deuce Witch had
already gone vertical as I attacked Klem, and came back down on Keks as I had
gone vertical after my attack. As Keks was flying same altitude same straight
flight path Witch got him.
We then bugged out north and later on got a P47 in the same way.
Now that is from what we saw during the attack and roughly, what tacview
showed. A lack of lookout from the first bounce(mindful of invisible bug), lack
of reaction to me coming in blazing, the a lack of real reaction to Talisman
getting shot down.
Now I don’t know what was said between the three of you, what you saw, or how
you were to react etc.
But the coordination between the two remaining fighters looked poor, and as
individuals at least do something drastic like split-s and dive away and head
towards a built up area or base.
It was nothing to do with the type of mission you do in this case, that puts
you at a disadvantage, as you were just climbing out from your airfield.
Out of interest we only saw three aircraft was there more of you then?
We have the tacview if anyone wants to see it.
Hope it helps.

Tonight I died again to the swooping Blaggards. Same old story, easy pickings.
We will always suffer the same fate, the only way to beat them is on their own
terms. Even if we were the smartest fighter pilots in the world we will always
lose unless we are on equal terms. No point in quoting Shaw or picking it over.
We do what we do, they do something different and if they see us we die because
we always put ourselves at a disadvantage if only by the nature of the missions
we fly. That's ok, its the choice we make but even so we still get it radically
wrong.
Tonight we set off on a fighter sweep. How? We climbed into our Mustangs and
began a slow climb to altitude on a direct line to the target. I died somewhere
around 7-8k. We needed to be high, very high in a Mustang, before we went
hunting.
And we needed to do that knowing there might be hunters around. So I suggest
that when we need height we go from the rear-most field and climb in a very
wide circle say 10-20km diameter to the rear of the field, out if the way of
the hunters and vary the pattern (emails have ears). Given that we are the only
bunch to launch 8-10 pilots, a real give away, perhaps we should go from
separate fields and RV somewhere at altitude.
Nevertheless I enjoyed the first mission. Blaggards were obviously on a tea
break.
