I know the external drop tanks were manual control, ie only drained selected tank so
required pilot control (and were apparently highly unreliable). And were not very popular
in Med, too likely to have ext tank not feed and leave you as fish food. So it was normal
to not try and balance them. Never gonna be issue in game though. Similar the hoops a
pilot had to go through for many aircraft to actually drop the damn things without
causing everything to stop. Bet that would remove some of the eagerness to have them if
it was 10 buttons in correct order rather than a simple "dont want em any more"
push.

It, Il-2, is simulating “pilot skills” I suppose, it’s the same with the
Mustang, you would normally have to move the fuel selector a lot to balance the
tanks, as you do in DCS, but in IL-2 it’s automated.

intervention). However it cycles between the two wing tanks and the auxiliary
tank and I dont think you need to be flying straight and level. You obviously
have no control over which tank is in use (unlike in CloD ) nor which is being
read from (also unlike CloD), but the two wing tanks drain in parallel so 66%
of time will give fuel consumption.
Supercharger, manual, change at 13k ft for cruise boost(9lbs) or about 8k for
combat boost.
It takes a long time to overheat, unlike CloD you can taxi rads closed and take
off full boost and still not be too hot. And in QM you can duel around with
single enemy with it shut. I guess its a bug but no-one called it during
testing and I never got to fly long enough to see how far it got like it.
Some forum smart arse will pick it up.

Hi Bo,
I did some flying in a Hurricane yesterday. It was worth waiting. Looks like
they depicted it right. Very stable and you can turn really tight.
One thing I noticed was the supercharger switch. I had to swich it manually. I
thought it was automatic. I really need to get some pilot notes on the Hurri.
Overall I’m very happy with the update and the plane. It was afraid it will
turn out as a big disappointment like p-47 but it didn’t.
I’m only waitnig for the fuel system improvements and with those a button for
checking fuel status in the Hurricane and Spitfire. Yes, the Hurricane has the
same stupid fuel check procedure.
I regained some more confidence in the dev team with this patch but I still
hold off with preordering BON.

Just tested the new hurricane.
Chosed 4 x hispano, backmirror and went dogfighting @ the Finish server.
Found some BF 109 who wasn’t afraid (yet) of dogfighting the hurricane. When
they choose turning with me I had major advantage and could easily get behind
them and make some kills before they killed me.
First impression. A very good and competitive plane, until the enemy learn not
to turn with it 😊
