I reckon the Lagg has an advantage over the 109F-2 in turn rate and speed is
about equal, prolly below 3k. The 109E-7 prolly turns as well as a LaGG but the
109E will be slower.
Blue has gone straight to 109F-4 and G-2 now so much more even all round.
That’s why I prefer ComBox, much more restricted plane set so less planes to
jump in just for a couple of days. Bart likes the P-40 though so at least we
get to use that.

When we spotted you Col we didn't have much /any of an alt advantage though,
and two of us were almost out of ammo. And we were in Lagg 3s (although to be
fair it wasn't as bad a plane as I remembered), so we didn't push it.

No, I didn’t see you guys before you shoot at me.
I managed to kill myself in an attack mission and then I took off alone in
order to meet up with the other guys, but got disorientated on my way and
went for home. Realized I was to far south when I saw the river and went
North and you know the rest of the story from there 😊. Not one of my best
days.

LoL long chase,:).
When you are first spotted, you then turned east to 1638 then northwards.
Did you see us following you east?

Well you were in a VVS fighter, we couldn't tell which one, and we were in
109F-2's, you are as fast as us, it took us 7 minutes to catch you and then
we only did that because we were a bit higher when we first saw you, and, you
can turn better than us, so, we treat you with respect and use loose deuce, 1
of us always putting pressure on you. We were also low on ammo as we had shot
down x2 Il-2's as well, so we were being cautious rather than "playing with
our food".
Good fight <S>

On my way you guys showed up. First I didn’t believe that it was you, since
it took you 3 minutes to shot me down and I would have expected you guys to
be able to end it much quicker 😉

Looking at the map we decided to protect strategic targets towards the south
of the map. It became apparent that there was not going to be any enemy close
by, so we decided to push on eastwards. Where the plan was to interrupt the
flow of the enemy aircraft forwards and back to the front lines.
This soon started to proved targets, as enemies were spotted, "Sturmoviks!"
heading eastwards to their home base. We engaged managing to shoot down two
and getting a shared on a third, that was finished off by a friendly flying
an E-7.
On bugging out low and then starting to climb, we noticed 2-4 high contacts
to our north heading east, can only be more Ivans, so we decided to stay low
and extend. We were now down to around 170l of fuel, so rtb was coming in to
play as we were deep behind enemy lines. When an Ivan was spotted slightly
low to our southeast the pursuit was on, it lasted 7 minutes and around
40-45km before the first shots were fired, the speed of the aircraft was
evenly matched. The shots made Ivan(LaGG-3) break, which we were then able to
take advantage of, and he was shot down. We now had a big problem we were
down to around 120l of fuel and a 150km flight back home, which was the
shortest route and meant flying directly over the front lines. We climbed up
to 5000m and throttled back to 2000rpm, hoping not to bump into anyone lol.
We made it and landed with around 30-40l which we were pleasantly surprised
with :).
From tacview the Sturmoviks were DBS sqn, the contacts to the north were Klem
and Roke, I think there were more, but tacview did not show them. The LaGG
was Bo, don't know what you were doing so far to the south in the middle of
nowhere. It took such a long time to catch up to Bo as the aircraft were
evenly matched for speed. Witch had to fire a long-range burst to make you
react, as we did not want you to get closer to your friendly base, as well as
our fuel getting low.
An interesting night from all different aspects :).
