We are a non-commercial site that trades legal music from bands that allow taping at their shows. This list is for anyone, especially newbies, interested in learning about downloading and enjoying internet audio. All aspects of internet audio are discussed, including what softwares to use, how to download and and convert file formats like shn or flac to .wav for burning to cd. How to encode lossless .shn files from live recordings for transfer over the internet. Strengths and weaknesses of various methods of encoding audio are another frequent topic. CD burning is always under discussion. What hardware and software works best for us, how to ensure exact audio copies using MD5 checksums are among the subtopics there. Many of our members record live concerts. That being the case types of equipment to be used, including laptop computer recording, dat machine selection and recording methods, microphone choice and placement will be topics you may encounter.
