There is nothing confused in questioning the idea that any name always requires 
the presence of its bearer to be used.

It would be quite confused to deny that certain uses of a name can and do 
require the bearer's presence to be successful.

It appears you read me as doing the latter when my point was the former.

I perhaps needed to be more clear.
