I think you've got a good thing going here Sean, and the way to keep
it cool is to keep moderating and coaching. It's the coaching part
you do especially well. A lot of work, should be a paid position.
You've set a model for many other lists to follow, in terms of what
you deem acceptable. What's notable is you've kept the rough and
tumble (in contrast to "dainty") i.e. you've encouraged polemics, just
not directed at the personalities in the ring. E.g. I'm able to blow
fire and smoke in the direction of "nominalism" yet still consider
Josh a great guy (an expositor / apologist for said school of
thought).
A list of high volume is what many a moderator would call "to die for"
i.e. you've met a gold standard for authentic participation most lists
only dream of. The people here are articulate, earnest, well read,
passionate... wow.
So my advice is don't pander to PhDs or whatever. Go ahead and set up
your House of Lords if you like, sounded like a fun experiment, but if
some pasha or sultan complains that there's just too much going on,
treat that like a spoiled brat at the circus, whining because the
elephants and monkeys are both happening simultaneously i.e. "too much
of a good thing".
