Sorry to those who tried to access my earlier post's story. It worked this morning, and is unavailable now. In essence, it was a photo essay of a Snowy Owl near the Chicago lakefront being buzzed by a territorial Peregrin well-known to the locals. Amazing display of talons and near-back flips by the grounded Snowy. It apparently lasted for five minutes. No contact or damage to either bird was observed. It may have been - the location, that is - deemed too sensitive by American Birding, the posting agent. Bad Betsy Abert in So.
