We've got a lot of House Finches at our feeders, although they seem to come in a variety of sizes/shapes/rednesses to me. However, I just noticed a couple of birds that are definitely not our female HFs: they're a little smaller, with shorter and more notched tails, and much more contrast in markings on the back/wings. I've posted a couple of not-very-good photos (my camera is poor and it's a pretty gray day here): does anyone know what this bird is? I can try to capture a better picture if necessary.
