Was at the B pond last night, and could see a small gull chick near the edge of the roof on the Walmart distribution center. This must be the first breeding record for Ring-billed Gull in Dunn County. I'm not sure how the colony will fare through the summer, however, especially if/when the weather gets hot. When it was in the upper 80's a week or so ago the gulls were panting and looked very uncomfortable. Bad news about the pond: the landowner at the northeast end was in the processing of bulldozing the shoreline there, and appeared to be constructing what looks like a ramp to the edge of the water.
