Got an email from Brad Paulson telling me that he had a Vesper Sparrow in his greenhouse. Had a chance to run down there today and the bird was still there. Brad said the bird has been around since at least Feb 24th. Checked the Rock River from Beloit up to Lake Koshkonong. Waterfowl counts of: 2420 Canada Goose 2 Black Duck 184 Mallard 39 Canvasback 3 Redhead 75 Lesser Scaup 2 Bufflehead 90 Common Goldeneye 8 Hooded Mergs 110 Common Mergs 9 Ruddy Duck 3 Coots Also found my first Sandhill Cranes and first Flicker of the year.
