I went out to Lakeshore State Park (aka Goosepoop Island). No snowy owl. Of course I wasn't quite sure where to look but I was around there for maybe 1.5-2 hours and did not see it. But I did see some ducks Lots of mallards (20+). 1 bufflehead Several common goldeneyes including I believe at least one first-year. Here's a female if I am not mistaken: Maybe 10 scaup. Can someone give me a scaup 101? Here's a photo I took Are they all the same kind? I have a guess about this one but I am probably wrong. http://image75.webshots.com/175/8/91/42/2634891420059461204elPYAp_fs.jpg Flock(s) of American tree sparrows. Here's a nice photo I got. This is an atypical background for a sparrow but looks nice in back of this bird: http://image75.webshots.com/175/7/49/71/2894749710059461204ZiVLOS_fs.jpg EMAILING FOR THE GREATER GOOD Join me > Date: Fri, 11 Dec 2009 20:04:36 -0600 > From: stevenlubahn@xxxxxxxxx > To: wisbirdn@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [wisb] Snowy Owl report -Milwaukee > > I am posting this on behalf of Bill Cowart who received a report from a > friend today of a Snowy Owl seen on Harbor Island (aka -Lakeshore State > Park) in Milwaukee. > > Steven Lubahn, > Milwaukee > Milwaukee Co. > #################### > You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding > Network (Wisbirdn). > To UNSUBSCRIBE or SUBSCRIBE, use the Wisbirdn web interface at: > //www.freelists.org/list/wisbirdn. > To set DIGEST or VACATION modes, use the Wisbirdn web interface at: > //www.freelists.org/list/wisbirdn. > Visit Wisbirdn ARCHIVES at: //www.freelists.org/archives/wisbirdn. > > #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
