I was over in Franklin, WI this afternoon at 68th and Oakwood Road watching a farm field that is still flooded from the over flowing Root River. I was watching a half dozen Killdeer, a couple Mallards, and possibly a Lesser Yellow Legs through my 8x30 binoculars when what appeared to be a shorebird flew across my field of vision. When it pulled up to land, it's back was unmistakeably yellow. The distance from the road is probably 200 meters, so the view isn't the best, but it appeared to be about the size of a Killdeer or Sandpiper rather than something like a Yellow Rumped Warber. Any who, just thought I'd pass it along as an interesting place to watch after all this rain. The water seems rather deep, so the flood will probably last a day or two. FWIW, the sod farms in Wind Lake are NOT flooded at this time.
