just returned from helping with the Hustisford CBC. On this count, I found another Savannah Sparrow. It is the second for me for this count year. I also had one on the Cedar Grove Count. Without looking at the reports so far received, I am aware of at least 2 other Savannahs found on counts this year -- marking for a minimum of 4 individuals. In the 71 years of WSO CBCs, there have been only 18 years with Savannahs. The highest total was 5 individuals found in 1999 on the Beloit Count. Hopefully these were correctly identified. Outside of that, there were 4 Savannahs over 2 counts in 2003 and 4 over 4 counts in 2005. This is shaping up as a great count year for sparrows. We might well set a record for the most species of sparrows ever reported in a count year. -- Bob Domagalski, Menomonee Falls #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
