Tom and All,
Please continue to submit the detailed write-ups explaining why you
know a bird is what you think it is. Remember "By the Wayside" in
the Pigeon needs those write-ups. They are a wonderful teaching tool
for others if done well (as yours are always done well, Tom). Yes,
we can and do run the beautiful photos in the Pigeon and in "By the
Wayside" - but the words detail what the observer needs to be looking
for to know they have a specific species. I new birder would not
know what the important features are from a beautiful photo only,
words are still important.
