Sorry for the garbled first email, I sent it from my phone.
Anyway, at Rainbow Springs this Tuesday, before the weather turned warm, I saw
several orange crowned kinglets near the big lake, just off of the road.
Later, on the pond across from the big lake, several ring necked ducks, male
and female.
At Retzer Thursday, saw several field sparrows, bluebirds, tree sparrows,
circling and then perching, vultures (on the red barn on the east side of the
property). Headed down to the fen, not much action, but just before exiting
the upper trail, I heard calling and tapping and saw my first yellow bellied
sapsucker - 2 males in the trees near a very large oak. A phoebe passed by,
but I was busy watching the two males working the trees for bugs.
Made my day!
