I plan to be in the Dominican Republic in late October (and will enjoy 
missing the last week of the spin and rhetoric of the mid-term elections by 
the way).  Can anyone recommend a field guide (book) and/or field guide 
(person) for the DR?  I will be on the eastern end of the island in Punta 
Cana and considering a trip to the Parque Nacional Del Este.  I also 
understand the critically endangered Ridgway's hawk may be found in Los 
Haitises National Park and has also been reintroduced into the Punta Cana 
area.
