All
I've periodically been checking the ponds along Jersey Rd east of Beaver Dam.
There are quite a few yellowlegs (both spp) and a few dowitchers (SB I think).
This morning I saw what might have been a stilt sandpiper. Am going to check
this afternoon when the light is better. The pond at the intersection of CTH A
and US 151 hasn't had any shorebirds.
Walked part of Old Marsh Rd a couple of days ago, coming in from the east. Not
much to report. However, I did have two willets. Speaking of Horicon, I also
drove both Ledge Rd and Dike Rd hoping to hear/see a VA rail, but dipped. Has
anyone had any luck with them at Horicon recently?
At my farm near Leipsig, I occasionally hear one of the local YB cuckoos. The
one in my neighbors woods to the east is more vocal. One of the barred owls in
that same woods calls most days.
