Stopped by Milwaukee's North Point today (north of Bradford Beach). About 100 Bonaparte's Gulls there. I think they are quite striking birds with their black heads. Most were out in the lake a bit, but quite a few (20-30) were near the shore. My first photos ever of this species: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/7068716783/in/photostream/ ...and: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/7068714761/in/photostream/ There were also two Turkey Vultures sitting on a log at North Point. Seemed odd, as I couldn't find any carrion. Would have made a great photo, but some passersby spooked them before I could get in position for a photo.
