Spent some time birding from McKinley Marina to Lakeshore State Park on Monday, looking for birds for the GBBC. A few highlights: * Immature male Long-tailed Duck. Foraging under the floating fishing dock in Lakeshore State Park. Eventually the bird moved north to the pedestrian bridge, under the bridge, and north to forage under the boat docks attached to the south side of Discovery World. Here's a photo I took from the LSP floating fishing dock: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6916889805/in/photostream * Hundreds of gulls on the ice at Milwaukee's McKinley Marina. Hard to see in this Flickr photo, but there's a Great Black Backed Gull here, off to the left: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6921948407/in/photostream * A couple of male Red-breasted Mergansers dozing in the sun on the rock island behind the Milwaukee Art Museum: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6921949207/in/photostream * Love the way the sunlight plays on this male Mallard at Milwaukee's Veterans Park lagoon: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6775831488/in/photostream Bernie Sloan Milwaukee #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
