Spent a couple of hours scoping the gulls at McKinley Marina this afternoon, hoping to refind the California gull. Dennis Gustafson joined me for some of the time, and unless he got lucky after I left, the C. gull was not refound. There were two glaucous gulls (one adult, one 2nd winter), and a few Thayer's (Dennis counted four or five, I spotted an immature bird that was either Thayer's or Iceland...pale with light brown markings, including wingtips, darker than the Iceland that I saw last week, but much lighter brown than the immature herring gulls).
