At the Madison Audubon meeting this week it was announced that the MGE Peregrine Falcons are back at the nest box. Seems there are 3 hanging around, 1 male and 2 females. The females are discussing (fighting) who gets to nest there. They were 1st reported on 2/7 much earlier than last year. Normally Dianne Echelbarger would post this info to this list serve but sadly I learned on Tues that she passed away last week after a courageous battle with cancer. Dianne was relatively new to birding and she worked near the MGE plant and could keep an eye on the falcons during the nesting season. She also liked reporting her new yard birds that visited her home in Stoughton. And she had flying squirrels raiding her feeders at night which delighted her. Rest in Peace Dianne.
