Had a customer at (Wild Birds Unl) this morning who was clearing brush from
her prairie yesterday and found a warbler nest with newly hatched chicks.
She showed me a video clip and I'd guess the chicks were 2-3 days old. Nest
was built in 3 stems of a low shrub, grass weaved with downy fluff on the
top edges. She did not see adult birds around. Strange for a warbler to be
nesting this late. She'll keep me posted how things go and if she can ID
the species. She lives near Verona, WI.
