Among the early spring arrivals there are a few winter birds hanging
around. A late Redpoll fed on blossoming birch catkins in my yard at
6:15 AM and even earlier a Red Crossbill was in nearby White Pines. A
Red Crossbill in the past week was heard singing which from my
experience is a pretty rare thing.
