Hi everyone -- I wsure wish I could get posts out when I need to esp. like last night after the fact. What would've been a lifer insect for me, my daughter took a video of it with her digital camera. So, hopefully, in the very near future I'll have images of this PRAYING MANTIS that was hanging around MY RESIDENCE Wednesday night. It was on my neighbor's car walkin' around then it flew on to my porch. And this thing was huge!! According to the wire hanger that my son used to compare sizes with this bugger was a good 7 inches long. I sure hope this critter doesn't get chewed up by a larger predator. That would really be awful. Better use this moment for a bird report too. My 'hood was quite busy this morning with a few flocks of geese, some warblers, a least flycatcher, RC kinglet, white-thr. sparrows and 7 fly-by flickers, which was somewhat unexpected. Then 2 Cooper's flew thru and messed things up royally. Oh, well. Those too shall pass. lol Excitedly submitted, Paul Bruce, Oshkosh Winnebago Co. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
