We seem to have a nice push of dabbling ducks moving through. I checked
out the flooded fields along the corner of Hwy. 57/Cth. B and they have
prime water levels for attracting migrating waterfowl (...and shorebirds
should they ever arrive). There was a good variety of waterfowl there this
morning. List below...
Canada Goose 16
American Wigeon 8
Mallard 6
Blue-winged Teal 4
Northern Shoveler 25
Green-winged Teal 5
Red-winged Blackbird 4
Should anyone have occasion to drive by there, be sure to look over the
cut corn field to the south of Cth. B and swing by the flooded woods along
Marx Rd. which produced the first Tree and Barn Swallows for me this year.
Nearby Brillion SWA had a Rough-legged Hawk hunting along Conservation Rd.
and an adult Bald Eagle on a dead tree in the impoundment.
Thanks!
