I stopped briefly to check Hwy 49 through Horicon Marsh yesterday afternoon. There are still good numbers of Great Egrets on the Fond du Lac County side, and the large mudflat east of the pumphouse on the south (Dodge Co.) side continues to attract shorebirds. After an intial scan with binoculars from the car looked unpromising, I got the scope out and realized there were quite a few Black-bellied and Semi-palmated Plovers, Lesser Yellowlegs, and Least, Semi-palm and Pectoral SPs. Given how much rain probably fell there yesterday afternoon/evening, this spot should be good all week (unless the shorebirds all clear out with the strong cold front coming on Thursday.)
