This evening the gull swarm at the lake hosted an adult Great Black-backed
Gull, which is only the second ever found in this area to my knowledge.
Also of note was a turkey that somehow had managed to get itself in the
lake -- it thrashed around for a bit but finally hoisted itself into the
air and flew back to shore. You just never know what you'll see when
you're out birding.
