Comments: This is the monthly 2nd Saturday 10-11:30 Bird and Nature Walk
cosponsored by Friends of Olin Turville Park and Madison Audubon. The
group enjoyed Ron Shutvet's history tour from the old farmstead back in
geological time to when this area was a pre-ice age island and the
Yahara was a major Wisconsin riverway. A highlight was an Orchard Oriole
near the Turville path entrance. No Bluebirds were seen but certainly
present. Andria Blattner's box check revealed two second nestings each
with 5 eggs.

Comments: This is the monthly 3rd Sunday 1:30-3 pm Bird and Nature Walk

the impending threat of rain and were rewarded with a delightful breezy
and sunny afternoon walk with lots of easily observed bird nesting and
feeding activity. Highlights were a Baltimore Oriole feeding chicks
right over our heads in one of 3 nests by the Mother Oak and Warner
Creek. Also great looks at nearby ground feeding Bluebirds, Flickers,
Kingbirds and a Brown Thrasher.
