Cindy and I were both pleasantly surprised to see a juvenile rough-legged hawk early Saturday morning. Up until the ground covering snow came over a week ago, we haven't seen any of the 3 that have entertained us from the house the previous 2 weeks; hovering over our field, kiting in the every strong winds and perching along the driveway. No bunnies or neighbor cats in the yard for a while... Sunday, we saw a small flock of FOY Common Redpolls on Crescent Lane off Co ZZ, then at home we had a single beautiful male redpoll at the feeders. Viewing from the Crescent Lane kayak/canoe launch there were 6 tundra swans, a mature bald eagle, a few redheads and buffleheads. Last weekend a meadowlark was north of the house and along Fairview/Memorial Roads for 2 days. Paul Paul Regnier Door County Nature & Travel LLC P. O.
