Made a loop today top visit some ponds from 1-5PM.
Started at the 'ponds' on Schumacher Rd which have now been turned into a
drainage ditch on one side of the road. (just a few Canada Geese). Then headed
to Goose Pond.
1 Snow goose
~20 Greater white fronted geese
Canada geese
~25 tundra swans (too far away for my binocs to identify Trumpeters)
1 Ruddy duck
2 Green-winged teals
5 Redheads
10 Ring-necked ducks
Scaups (sp)
1 American kestrel
Then headed to Schoenberg Marsh.
5 American wigeons
5 Green-winged teals
1 American black duck
Ring-necked ducks
Scaups (sp)
1 Northern Harrier
1 Red-tailed hawk
2 Tundra swans
2 Sandhill cranes
2 Bluebirds
Finally stopped at Stricker's and Tiedeman's ponds in Madison/Middleton
15 Bonaparte gulls
~10 Hooded mergansers (1 male)
2 Blue-winged teals
~10 Wood ducks
~10 Buffleheads
~25 Ring-necked ducks
1 Northern Shoveler
3 Pied-billed grebes
1 bat hunting insects at 4PM
