Good evening, yesterday I spent the morning in Sheboygan County. I was
lucky enough to enjoy great looks at both the Cinnamon x Blue-winged Teal
and the Barrow's Goldeneye. I arrived at the flooded field just after
sunrise, and immediately found the teal, hanging with a group of shovelers,
fairly close to the road. There was a great diversity of birds there,
pretty impressive really! After a couple hours, the teal swam to the west
side and I wasn't able to see it, may have gone in the woods.
I then moved on to North Point Park and once again, found the Barrow's
immediately. As soon as I got my camera out and set up, the group of ducks
took off and flew south to the piers. I walked south and relocated the
group of birds. After about 15 minutes, the entire raft of ducks took off
and never returned. Not really sure what sent them packing, but I don't
think it's been seen since. I was really lucky to have made it there when I
did.
A few images of both ducks at the link below, if you're interested.
