About 3 years ago I got an email (thru the BRAW website) asking me to ID a blue colored bird a woman in Spring Green had coming to her bird bath. She was able to get a photo and it was a male Blue Grosbeak. She later sent me updates that there was also a female and they must be nesting in her yard as she saw them every day. She mentioned she lived about 1 mile south of the Spring Green Preserve. She didn't want visitors or to reveal to me her exact location. The following year she emailed me again to tell me it was there again but less often. She figured it was nesting further away. Then last year she sent me a message and said it wasn't there. So now that there is one at the reserve makes me wonder if it could be their offspring or possibly the same bird she had? Who knows maybe they'll get established in that area?
